Jeff Johnson’s Traffic Getting Plugin Killed My Site?

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

No, I’m not going to start badmouthing Jeff Johnson and dissing him like some insecure rapper. He has taught me an awful lot about search engine ranking and following his advice has helped me gain numerous top 10 rankings on Google.

When it comes to search engine optimisation he is one of the very top guys in the business. Just wanted to get that straight!

So having said all that why on earth would I accuse him (or rather his software) of killing my website? Well it’s just to prove a point really. The point being, never take anything for granted when it comes to SEM. Let me explain…

Over the last couple of years I have been embracing WordPress and have come to know the software intimately.

I used to always laugh at people who moaned and whinged on the forums saying their websites have been relegated to the supplemental results or they have been sandboxed. I would laugh because I have never had that problem with WordPress.

I would regularly see my brand-new WordPress blogs indexed and ranking in Google usually within days. This was the norm for me.

Then I decided to use Jeffs traffic getting plug-in to see if I could boost my WordPress blogs even more. So, excitedly, I installed and configured the plug-in on a brand-new blog of mine. I verified everything was working properly and waited for the amazing traffic getting results.

This was a good couple of months ago now and my poor WordPress blog is languishing in the sandbox or whatever you want to call it. Plenty of indexing going on but absolutely no rankings whatsoever.

Obviously before I jump to any conclusions about Jeff Johnson’s traffic getting plug-in I will need to wait a bit longer and keep building links in order to push the website out of the dark place it is in at the moment and I am hopeful that once I break out, this thing is going to drive serious amounts of traffic.

So even though Jeffs plug-in seems to have temporarily destroyed my rankings where usually I would have achieved almost immediate traffic the long-term results do look good.

So the answer to my question posed in the headline of this post would be a resounding no because my website is fully indexed and just poised waiting to explode! I expect the post will get a bit of attention in the blogosphere though!

Please do leave your comments below on your experiences with Jeff Johnson’s traffic getting plug-in.

Cable Internet

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

A big part of everyone’s lives in this world of technology is clearly computers. Cable internet has revolutionized the way we do things. Whether it be sending an email or searching for the latest movie trailers, the internet has it all at our disposal.

The speed of Internet connection has come along way in the past ten years. I remember when dial-up was the way we signed online with the slow obnoxious dialing sound, followed by an atrocious blare of static. This method allowed us to view basically anything our hearts desired from anywhere around the world. Let’s face it; it was love at first mouse click. The world had never seen such a feat. We could actually chat online with someone in China, for free!

Soon, better methods of connection became available. We suddenly had DSL and cable Internet. While DSL offered a much faster speed of surfing the web, cable connection was clearly the epitome of what the world desired. Let’s face it; we live in a chaos of hustle and bustle. This is what makes cable Internet ideal for businesses, schools and even homes. We want what we want and we want it now!

A slight downside to cable service is the price, which typically runs higher than its competitor, DSL. However, this has certainly not put a damper on its success. The fact is, that many of us desire the speed to tackle our online banking, as opposed to dealing with the hectic lines at the bank, or surf the millions of websites for Christmas gifts at the lowest prices possible, or simply send an email. We’ve come to depend on computers like we do our cars or cell phones.

Cable Internet certainly has its advantages concerning video feeds and downloads. For those of us who like to view the latest movie trailers or download a music video, cable makes this more viable. Why spend ten minutes waiting for a clip to download when you can view it immediately with cable connection? Why face the burden of a slow connection speed that hinders you from placing a fast enough bid on eBay, causing you to lose the item? These are dilemmas that all of us face everyday, and these are some reasons why we prefer cable Internet speed to the others.
